DJ OBÁ
DJ Obá is a Black Brazilian artist who researches and celebrates Afro-Brazilian music, the African diaspora, and global grooves through sets that bring together ancestry, diversity, and contemporary culture.
With over a decade behind the decks, Obá performs at corporate events, festivals, culturally driven hotels and restaurants, cultural institutions, weddings, and private celebrations. Working with both digital and vinyl formats, each performance is marked by thoughtful musical curation and a unique ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Obá's repertoire moves seamlessly between Brazilian popular music (MPB), samba, samba-rock, forró, soul, disco, reggae, rap, bregafunk, Latin music, and classics of Brazilian culture, combining deep musical research, energy, and sensitivity to create memorable dancefloor experiences.
ON THE DANCEFLOOR
Throughout this journey, Obá has opened for artists such as Tássia Reis, Velha Guarda da Mangueira, Originais do Samba, Rico Dalasam, Liniker, and Linn da Quebrada, as well as shared the decks with KL Jay.
Obá has also performed at major cultural events and institutions, including São Paulo Pride, TV Globo, Casa de Francisca, Feira Preta, Unibes Cultural, Virada Sustentável, Cinemateca Brasileira, MIS-SP, Som na Rural, and Festa Javali, establishing a strong presence within Brazil's contemporary cultural landscape.
